IBCA 1A-2A All-Star Game Photos
The IBCA 1A-2A South team was soundly defeated Saturday night by the North squad 107-94. St. Anne's Cliff Fleming topped all scorers with 24 points, 20 in the second half as the North held off their southern foes. Fleming was named the North's MVP. Macomb's Matt Buren added 15 points and West Carroll’s Chris Anderson added 12 for the North team who led 49-46 at the half. Mounds Meridian's Marland Johnson scored seven points and hauled down a team-best 10 rebounds and was named the South's "Most Valuable Player." Brett Thompson of Vienna was presented the "Leadership Award" for the South team. The South was led in scoring by West Frankfort's Isaiah Simelton with 14 points. Kyle Cassity of Pinckneyville and Sean Rakers of Trenton-Wesclin added 10 points each for the South. Harrisburg's Matt Smithpeters and Warrensburg-Latham's Zack Boyd chipped in eight points each. Carlyle's Matt Palm added seven points in the loss. Counting the 32 previous All-Star contests which were Class A, the South leads the overall series 20-13 after the loss Saturday night.
