Millstone Bluff has remained relatively undisturbed because it is perched in a high hill surrounded by an 80-foot high bluff. This Mississippian period village is thought to have been active for 500 years. The trail leads to a Native American Cemetery, the remains of a stone wall and the depressions excavated for buildings in the small town. But the highlights of the site are the petroglyphs (carvings in rock) of a thunderbird, rattlesnake, corn stalk on bloom, etc.
