AT NORRIS CITY-OMAHA-ENFIELD
HARDIN COUNTY 43, CRAB ORCHARD 37
The Hardin County Cougars knocked off top-seed Crab Orchard to win the NCOE Regional behind 14-points from Tyler Winters and seven different players scoring as Coach Rodney Lane's club gained a bit of respect after being the number three seed in the regional.

Using a tough defensive effort and ball control, the Cougars held down the high-scoring Trojans to improve to 23-6 on the season.

Tanner Dutton added seven points and BJ Austin chipped in six.

But the Cougars really came up big from the foul line, hitting 14-of-19 from the line and 10-of-12 in the final minutes.

Coach Jon Brown's club saw its season end at 27-3 despite 19-points from senior Gunnar Galloway.

Crab Orchard didn't get to the foul line often on Friday night and hit just 3-of-9 attempts.

Winning its first regional title since 1986, Hardin County will take on Cairo, a 65-44 winner over Century to win the Century Regional.

The top-seeded Bobcats rallied past the host Pioneers to win the regional on Trico's home floor behind three players with double-figures in the low scoring battle of 20-win teams and the top two seeds in the regional.

Senior leader David Davis stepped up and scored 14-points for Meridian who are now 23-7 on the season and advanced to play Sesser-Valier at the Hardin County 1A Sectional on Tuesday.

Tyrone Nesby and Davare Edmonds added 12-points each for the Bobcats, who rallied from a 24-20 halftime deficit for the win.

Trico saw its season close at 22-9 despite 20-points from senior Chase Rednour and 11-points from senior guard Ryan Myers.

Jake Chapman added 10-points for the Pioneers.

Trailing 37-31 heading to the fourth quarter, Meridian outscored the Pioneers 17-7 in the final eight minutes.

Coach Mike Denault's club had chances to put the game away but were just 5-of-11 from the foul line in the fourth quarter.

Meridian will face Sesser-Valier for a second time this season. The Red Devils won the previous meeting, 75-62 back in January at the Benton Invitational Tournament.

AT BRIDGEPORT RED HILL
RED HILL 49, EDWARDS COUNTY 46
The Red Hill Salukis, who entered their own regional with just a 4-22 record, won three consecutive games to win their own regional crown.

Coach Bryan Havill's club put it all together with a big win over LIC rival Edwards County to advance to the Effingham St. Anthony Sectional on Tuesday night.

Kameron Vinsel, a 6-foot-1 sophomore, scored 23-points including three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter as the Salukis edged the Lions.

Five-foot-eleven senior Steve Ramsaran added eight-points for the Salukis, who nearly matched their entire win total for the season in one postseason week.

Edwards County, the top-seeded club at Red Hill, saw its season end at 15-13.

Six-foot-four junior Maverick Troyer topped the Lions with 17-points.

Edwards County led 38-30 heading to the fourth quarter but the hosts rallied for the win behind Vinsel and also an 11-of-12 performance from the foul line, including 6-of-6 in the final period.

PATOKA 57, ODIN 54 (OT)
Getting 19-points from forward Garrett Belcher and 18-points from sophomore guard Jered Cain, the Warriors won their second consecutive regional title, beating the host Eagles in overtime.

For the second-straight year, Coach Joe Eddy's club one the game that counted the most against their Marion County rivals, improving to 21-9 on the year.

Patoka hit 7-of-10 free throws in the overtime to pull out the victory, denying Odin of its first ever regional championship.

Coach Mike Finkbone's squad was topped by Devin Williams with 17-points and Dustin Quick added 16 in the loss which ended the season at 22-7.

Tyler Back and Dylan Back each scored eight-points on the night and both came up big late in the game.

Tyler Back scored six of the Warriors points in the overtime.

Belcher scored 10 of his points in the first quarter while Cain netted 12 in the second half before fouling out.

AT STEWARDSON-STRASBURG
NOKOMIS 57, ALTAMONT 55 (OT)
Altamont's Ryan Armstrong scored 37-points, including a 3-point shot at the buzzer to send the regional title game into overtime.

However it was Nokomis who ended up taking home the hardware for the third straight season.

The Redskins did just enough to get another trip to a sectional, getting 20-points from Reid Detmers and 16-points from Marcus Chausse.

Nokomis will face Red Hill at the Effingham St. Anthony 1A Sectional on Tuesday night.

AT CARMI-WHITE COUNTY
FAIRFIELD 68, HARRISBURG 61
The Mules won their first regional title since 2007 with a win over the Bulldogs on Friday night, getting 38-points from 6-foot-8 senior Nathaniel Lackey, Coach Scott McElvravy's club advanced to the Benton 2A Sectional.

The senior had a stellar night, hitting 17-of-22 shots overall in leading his team to the win and improving to 21-7 on the season.

Guard Andrew Gifford added 16-points, including 10-of-12 free throws, as Fairfield will move on to play Carterville on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs saw their season end at 18-11 and the outstanding prep career of senior guard Bahari Amaya ended after he scored 33-points in the loss.

Amaya hit all 10 of his free throw attempts in the contest.

CARTERVILLE 58, WEST FRANKFORT 45
The Lions got 22-points from Matt Galik as Coach Scott Burzynski saw his club advance to the sectional with a big win on the Redbirds' floor on Friday night.

Carterville (23-4) led 33-29 at intermission and then pulled away in the second half for the win to end West Frankfort's season at 18-9.

Will Galik added 18-points for the Lions, who will face Fairfield on Tuesday night.

Hunter Johnson led the Redbirds with 16-points while Aaron Twist added 10.

BREESE MATER DEI 60, NASHVILLE 40
The Knights sprung the biggest upset of the night in 2A, downing Nashville in the title game at Carlyle as they jumped out to a big lead and never let up in dismantling the Hornets.

Six-foot-eight senior center Nolan Gerling led the way with 21-points while 6-foot-4 classmate Ben Lampe added 11-points for Coach Ron Schadegg as the battle tested independent team advanced to East Alton-Wood River to take on Greenville on Tuesday night.

Breese Mater Dei, who had lost the two previous clashes with Nashville, jumped all over the Hornets in the opening quarter 18-4.

Six different players scored for the Knights in the quarter and seven scored in the game for BMD, who led 26-15 at the half.

Junior forward Royce Newman led the Hornets (26-4) with 15-points while senior guard Daniel Thorson closed his prep stint on the hardwood with 10.

ROXANA 56, PIASA SOUTHWESTERN 53
The host Birds were “Shell-Shocked” by their SCC rivals from Roxana in overtime on Friday night.

Coach Mark Briggs of the Shells saw his club get three players in double-figures as they improved to 16-14 on the season and will now face Pinckneyville in the East Alton-Wood River 2A Sectional with that game scheduled for Wednesday night.

Junior guard Chance Foss led Roxana with 16-points while senior guard Randy Skiff added 15.

Six-foot-one junior Trace Gentry added 11-points for the Shells, including a big 3-pointer in the overtime.

Senior guard Briston Johnson led the Birds (19-7) with 11-points while Coach Jason Darr got nine-points apiece from Tyler Rose and Blake Lawson.

AT VANDALIA
GREENVILLE 52, HILLSBORO 41
The Comets improved on their already school-record of wins by taking home back-to-back regional titles for the first time since 1996-97 with a win over SCC rival Hillsboro on Friday night.

Coach Todd Cantrill's team used balanced scoring to overcome a monster regional championship game by Hillsboro's 6-foot-8 forward Dylan Miller.

Craig Faulkner scored 14-points while Austin Lawrence and Dillon Hallemann added nine-points each.

Miller netted 27-points for the Hiltoppers, scoring nearly all of the points for Coach Joe Vanzo's team that saw the season end at 15-13.

Greenville improved to 28-3 on the season and had a date with Breese Mater Dei on Tuesday night at EA-WR.
