The Wolves semifinal win puts Coach Adam Ellis’ program in its second consecutive regional championship game.

Clay City (16-12) won this tight game at the foul line by hitting 18-of-21 from the stripe that included 9-of-12 in the final quarter.

Six-foot-three senior Cody Lewis led the Wolves with 12-points in the low scoring contest with Skylar Frank adding 10.

Brandon Duvall and Mason Duff added eight points each as CC advances to face Red Hill on Friday night.

Joshua Yates scored a game-high 14 points for the Cardinals whose season concludes at 13-13.

Levi Bailey added seven points – all in the first quarter – for Coach Brian Wattles' club.

North Clay was outscored from the foul line 18-7.

NORRIS CITY-OMAHA-ENFIELD 68, WALTONVILLE 64
The third-seeded Fighting Cardinals held off a late Spartans rally to also reach a regional title game for second straight season.

Head coach Doug Miller’s squad led by as many as 16 in the third quarter before Waltonville rallied to even the score at 64-all with under a minute to play.

NCOE reserve sophomore Quinton Halfacre scored on a lay in with :09 left and Levi Hart iced the game with a pair of free throws with :03.9 remaining.

Jordan Weiss led the Cards (21-8) with 20-points while Hart added 12. Nicholas Mitchell tossed in 11-points and Matt Kerns came off the bench to add 10.

Waltonville couldn’t overcome its huge deficit despite Skyler Witges 27-points that led all scorers. Witges scored 19 of those points in the second half to lead the Waltonville comeback.

Joseph Lewis also pitched home 19 in the loss - which finalized the Spartans’ season at 19-10.

NCOE outscored Waltonville 26-14 in the second quarter to break away.

The Spartans missed six fourth quarter free throws that could have put them in front.

NCOE will face Sesser-Valier in the regional title game for the second-straight season.

The Cards lost to S-V last February 70-53 at Sesser.

CAIRO 65, SHAWNEE 63 (2OT)
The Pilots – behind 20-points from Arthur Williams – escaped with a double-overtime win.

Williams scored four points in the second OT as Cairo advanced to play rival Meridian in the championship game.

Shawnee (13-15) finished just 13-of-26 from the foul line and had chances to win the game in regulation.

Clay Murphy – playing in his final game of his four-year varsity prep career – led the Redskins with 19.

Murphy hit four 3-pointers in the game and nailed a trey with :04.2 left in the first overtime to send the game to another extra session.

Tyler Davis added 18 in the loss and Kyle Griggs pushed in 12 points.

Williams scored on the Pilots first possession and then grabbed his own rebound for a basket and four point lead.

Derrick Thomas was second on the Cairo scoring list with 17-points.

Cairo (10-13) will face the top-seeded Bobcats Friday night.
